DXM/128x128 and 64x64 High Speed Digital Matrix

Cytec's new DXM/128x128 (and it’s baby brother DXM/64x64) Series of Digital Data Switch Matrices are solid state systems whose typical uses include telemetry applications switching differential digital telemetry, such as:

  • Multiple Satellite Data Streams
  • Aircraft Flightpath Telemetry
  • Missile/Aircraft Test Data Gathering
  • Multiple High Speed Signal Acquisition

The systems are non-blocking, full fan-out configurations from 16x16 to128x128 or Clock & Data configurations from 16x16 to 64x64. Switched signal types depend on the Input and Output Interface Modules installed in the system and include ECL (Emitter Coupled Logic), PECL (Positive Emitter Coupled Logic), LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signals), HDTV (High Definition Television), CML (Current Mode Logic) or HSSI (High Speed Serial Interface) with data rates to 3.5 Gbps NRZ for CML signals and 2.5 Gbps for other signal types.

The system incorporates an advanced solid state switch fabric that helps restore signal levels, corrects deterministic jitter and cleans up rise time problems associated with wiring and cable runs.

Cytec’s new, intelligent IF-8 Control Module provides IEEE488 (GPIB), RS232 and Ethernet LAN Interfaces. Keypad manual control is optional. Standard rear panel I/O connector are 8-pair Densi-Shield; these can be wired out to alternate connectors (for example SMAs) located on external patch panels.

Features

  • DXM/128x128 Series allow modular formation of matrices from 16x16 to 128x128 (Clock & Data up to 64x64) in one chassis
  • DXM/64x64 provide matrix sizes from 16x16 to 64x64 (Clock & Data 32x32) in a single chassis
  • Multi chassis systems available using a MESA Controller and several Expansion Chassis
  • Separate input and output modules cover a wide variety of signal types such as ECL, PECL, LVPECL and LVDS
  • Nonblocking -- any input to any output without disturbing previously set paths
  • Full Fan-out -- One input can be distributed to all outputs
  • Modular design with hot swappable Control Module and Input and Output Buffer Modules
  • Jitter correction built into switch fabric
  • Restores amplitude on weak signals
  • All Solid State switching
  • Data rates to 2.5 Gbps (3.5 Gbps for CML)
  • May be used to convert signal types i.e.: PECL inputs converted to LVDS outputs
  • Computer Control from IEEE488 BUS (GPIB or HPIB), RS232 and Ethernet are standard
  • Manual Control Option
  • Custom or semi-custom configurations available. Contact one of our Applications Engineers for more information
  • DensiShield I/O connectors standard. External patch panels supply other types, for example SMAs
